Empathy and Everyday Communication
Practice attentive listening and clearer conversations.
Start with a question
When someone describes a problem, ask whether they would prefer listening, ideas or practical help. This avoids assuming that your preferred response is the one they need. Leave room for them to change their answer.
Check your understanding
Summarize what you heard in your own words and invite a correction. You can understand a viewpoint without agreeing with every part of it. Avoid treating someone else’s quiz result as an explanation for everything they say.
Keep boundaries clear
Being supportive does not require agreeing to every request. Say what you can offer and when you are available. The Empathy score here reflects selected answers about connection and support; it does not measure kindness or moral worth.
